Want to be involved? Sign up before Tue 04.08 for flash-talks, chairs and awards!
This IMSC, for the first time young scientists play an active role in each and every session. You have the exclusive opportunity to chair one of the many scientific sessions, be the first to ask questions of the presenters and get to know your senior scientist chair as well. There truly is no easier way to kickstart your networking. And of course, if you want to do this, we will work with you to get you a session that is interesting for you and where you have an expertise, so no blind assignments. This is a rare opportunity for taking part at such an important international event and work on your communication in a safe environment, so we hope many of you are excited to try it.
Thanks to our generous sponsors, we are able to award a whole six prizes to young scientists doing exceptional in presenting their science in every format. While three of those prizes are selected by popular vote, we also have three prizes selected by an award committee, which you can be a part of. These will be awards from young scientists for young scientists and just by attending sessions and chatting with people presenting their poster, you take part in voting for your favourites. Of course this also comes with the privilege being part of the award ceremony and seeing the excitement in the face of the winners. Sign up in the survey above before Monday 3rd of August!
We also still have slots available for Flash-talks! You can get 90 seconds on Sunday 23rd to present your science to other young scientists and get a chance to win one of the Flash-Talk awards! You don’t even need to write another abstract, so its the best way to learn elevator-pitching your projects before doing so at the conference. Sign up now, before the deadline or all slots are gone!
Networking workshop: Learning networking from the experts
We wanted to have a workshop talking about networking and detailing conference etiquette, so we are very proud to present the Networking workshop on Monday 24th from 5.45 to 7.30 pm. We invited a diverse panel from various countries and backgrounds and ask them to detail their strategies for conference preparation, striking up discussions and keeping in touch with your new contacts. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and participate, so we hope you are as excited and interested as we are. And while we don’t want to spoil too much, here is our panel lineup:
- Li Xue, Jinan University China
- Suraj Dhungana, Andson Biotech USA
- Ansgar Korf, MzMine Software / MZIO
- Carsten Hopf, University clinic Mannheim Germany
- Valerie Gabelica, University of Geneva Switzerland
